For a hair color similar to Jaclyn Smith's, Charlie says to ask your colorist for a "medium caramel brown base, illuminated by streaks of almond blonde." The Denver, CO stylist also suggests to tell your stylist that the streaks should vary in thickness.
"Jaclyn's hair is a double-process (as in color and highlights). This allows her to have a soft, sun-streaked version of her iconic chocolate brown hair," explains Charlie, who's worked on runway shows for Calvin Klein, Prada, and Marc Jacobs. "This color is well-suited for many women regardless of age or skin type, but best on brunettes with medium skin tone who wish for a youthful and sexy [look]." Just stay away from reddish or ash tones—stick to natural or golden browns for a more predictable result.
