Size matters, at least when it comes to finding clothes that fit. But wearing a size 10 in one designer's line can mean wearing a size 6 in another's. Shouldn't there be a size handbook that they all follow? And what about finding fashionable petite or plus-size clothing? A discouraging task that sometimes can be close to impossible. Even though I'm fat, as a fellow shorty I feel your pain. I'm only 5' 3" and even the plus size clothing is made for women who are 5' 8" and taller. I finally found some decent clothes at Nordstroms but now I have to get them all altered because the pants are three inches too long and the jacket sleeves are so long you only see the tips of my fingers. No one really seems to consider short women people at all. We're suppose to just take what we can get. And Susy, I also feel you on the resizing. It used to be a 26/28 was considered a 3X, now that's been changed to a 4X - sometimes I feel the clothing resizing is actually a conspiricy to make fat women feel so bad that they all kill themselves so only skinny women will be left. I'm utterly serious. Why else would they do that plus make the clothing itself so hidious that no one in their right mind would wear it. I mean, NO ONE looks good in horizontial stripes. These make even Kate Moss look like she's 25 pounds overweight. Someone's got to do something. It's just too bad the fashion designers are too cowardly to allow people to send them feedback.

I am thin and shorter. I have found even though I have NOT gained any weight, I was once a size 5, I am now a size 0. What is the deal with that? I insist that they have altered sizing based on all of this OVERWEIGHT NATION garbage. I am sorry they don't make professional clothes in girls size. Then being 37 is worse, I am STUCK inbetween "young and hoochie" and "old and blousey". WHAT TO DO!!!

my weight has always fluctuated, i have been a size 16 and also a size eight. i am really fed up at a size 16 as even if i do get something to fit i feel uncomfortable, i was happier at a size 12.so i know how people feel

I'm a short, skinny girl. Since clothes are generally fitted on 5'8" models, many clothes, unless they're in petites, don't fit properly, even after alterations. You see, hemming isn't good enough. A petite but proportioned woman will still find the rise of pants too long (making them baggy) and jackets would also be long. Not to mention that petite brands tend to be matronly!

I don't have any good aspects of my body. I'm just fat and ugly. I ought to just start buying moo-moos. *sighs* I'm so tired of even trying. I'm so blasted ugly and the clothes are even uglier then me.

Believe it or not, skinny people have just as much trouble finding clothes that fit. I am a size 0 or at least thought I was until all size 0's were getting to big. Now if I buy the smallest thing a store has and try to get them altered, they say the pant is too big to alter. I am not ridiculously thin for my height, and common clothes stores should broaden the size spectrum on both ends.
