Six Sensational Spring Makeup Looks

Spring is a favorite time to enjoy new makeup, and to inspire you this season, we offer you six fresh spring makeup looks by some of the most brilliant artists working today. Spring 2006 trends promise that pinks will be prevalent in an amalgamation of tones ‑- from pale hibiscus to rose to a heartier mulberry ‑- with a dash of pomegranate tossed in to honor spring's burgeoning succulence. So if you're yearning for the sweet bloom of the new season, here are six lovely choices.

Make Up For Ever: Just Bitten

Makeup artist Wendy Karcher's inspiration is the just-bitten lusciousness of a ripe pomegranate as its juice stains the lips. To replicate the look, she fills in the entire lip with a tangerine orange pencil, over which she layers a sheer red gloss, creating this unique orange-tinged, red-stained mouth. She then uses a similarly red-orange blush at the apples of the cheeks. Karcher delicately enhances the eyebrow, but leaves the rest of the eyes bare except for a coat of black mascara and a fine black liner across the upper lash line.

Here's what Karcher used:

  • Face
  • #8 Mat Velvet Oil Free Foundation
  • #23 Compact Powder
  • #3 Corrective Base
  • #1 Lift Concealer

  • Eyes:
  • #1 Brow Pencil in Taupe
  • #1 Color Liner in Black
  • #1 Volume Mascara

    Cheeks:
  • #16 Blush Powder (ruby reddish pink)
  • Lips:
  • #40 Lipstick (applied all over as a stain)
  • #416 Lipstick (sheer red applied on top)
