I'm frumpy! I look awful. I haven't had my hair cut in a year—it's just long and hangs there—my ends are a mess. I have no money for anything personal. I don't know how to make myself look good with my sad wardrobe. And, I feel that this just feeds my cycle of "fatness" because why even bother trying when I look horrible anyway.

We've all felt frumpy at one point or another. And, funding a fab wardrobe can be very hard these days. You're not alone!
But before we try to change your hair and clothes, we should do something about that attitude! Don't be so down on your appearance—looks aren't everything. People are beautiful for what's on the inside. Lucky for you, gaining a little self-confidence is free.
Start off each day by reminding yourself about all of the good things in your life (family, friends, your hobbies) and about all of the great things you do for other people. Hopefully, this will help with your "inner awesomeness." Love yourself!
When it comes to your hair, try simple (free) things, like parting your hair differently. You can also try to add volume to your mane when you blow-dry—turn your head upside down and point at your scalp.
For your wardrobe, it's time to get a little creative. Pair pieces you ordinarily wouldn't put together and use the accessories you have to the fullest. I'm a firm believer in things never going out of style, so there's no need to buy anything new. If someone asks you when and where you got something, just reply: "It's vintage."
I think the most important thing to remember when you revive your style is to have fun with it. Regardless of size, shape and age, putting yourself together really is about self-expression, after all.
