Men don't have bad hair days. We have bad haircuts, which means we have bad hair months. The first thing to do if your father or husband or boyfriend needs a style makeover is to get him to a good hairstylist who can cut and style his hair based on his hair type and face. Spend the money for the right cut and he can use his fingers and a comb to style it, and he'll look great every day. Other advice you can tell your style-starved man:
- Gray hair will make you look older. But if you color it, make sure the colorist matches your hair exactly. If your hair is oxidized, or lightened, your hair could turn orange, or at least it will look like you have dyed your hair.
- Many men have to deal with some type of male pattern baldness and need to get a haircut that works with balding areas. Even if your head is completely covered, your hair may not be the same density all around. For example, men with thinning hair on top sometimes let their hair grow long on the sides to compensate. That will give you a Bozo look. To avoid that, your stylist should cut the hair on the side close to your head.
